Located in Misumi-cho, Hamada City, Shimane Prefecture, close to the Murodani Rice Terraces, which have been selected as one of the 100 Best Rice Terraces in Japan, Yoshihara Woodworks quietly blends into the beautiful scenery of Mt. Taimasan.
Our workshop has remained rooted in this location since its founding in 1958. Attuned to the seasons through the chirping of insects and the murmur of nearby streams, we design and craft bespoke wooden products including joinery, kumiko latticework, and furniture.
While joinery and kumiko often evoke traditional "Japanese" aesthetics, our priority is realising our clients' visions. We strive to create innovative wooden products that harmonise timeless traditions with contemporary design.

At Yoshihara Woodworks, we go beyond designing the joinery itself.
We collaborate with our clients from the outset, tailoring bespoke pieces to suit the style of the space in which they are to be installed.
We have curated a selection of styles in our catalogue to serve as a source of inspiration.

From standard specification products to custom-made items tailored to your needs, we offer a wide range of manufacturing services.

Delicate latticework layers intricately upon itself, creating a variety of patterns through the Japanese traditional technique of kumiko.
