日本のおもてなし

組子紋様	胡麻蜀江桐麻

伝統的な日本建築には必ずといっていいほど床の間（とこのま）があります。掛け軸や生け花で移り行く季節を演出し、お客様をお迎えする顔として日本人が最も大切にしてきたおもてなしの間。そこには豪華絢爛な組子の書院障子や欄間がたてられたのです。最近は二間続きの和室がほとんどなくなりましたが、本格的な和室ならではの趣や品格は言うまでもありません。
伝統とは、革新を繰り返しながら本質を未来につなげること。僕らも組子づくりを通して、日本の和の良さを伝えてゆけたらと改めて感じた現場でした。
